Mom, you're the number one for me!

on Friday, 16 March 2012 16:40. Posted in Inspiration

A beautiful composition by @MaherZain which I dedicate to my mother and all the lovely mothers out there! I want to shout out how blessed we are to have them in our lives. And thanks to Maher Zain for putting this in a beautiful chorus.

I was a foolish little child
Crazy things I used to do
And all the pain I put you through
Mama now I'm here for you

For all the times I made you cry
The days I told you lies
Now it's time for you to rise
For all the things you sacrificed

Oooh
If I could turn back time rewind
If I could make it undone I swear that I would
I would make it up to you [2x]

This is True Love

on Sunday, 19 February 2012 03:36. Posted in Inspiration

On this Valentines, I was reminded of what true love is by a friend of mine and I couldn't stop but share this beautifully written piece of wisdom. It describes what a true love should be like, the path which it describes takes you to eternity.

This is Love:

And so there are some who spend their whole lives seeking. Sometimes giving, sometimes taking. Sometimes chasing. But often, just waiting. They believe that love is a place that you get to: a destination at the end of a long road. And they can’t wait for that road to end at their destination. They are those hearts moved by the movement of hearts. Those hopeless romantics, the sucker for a love story, or any sincere expression of true devotion. For them, the search is almost a lifelong obsession of sorts. But, this tragic ‘quest’ can have its costs—and its’ gifts.

The path of expectations and the ‘falling in love with love’ is a painful one, but it can bring its own lessons. Lessons about the nature of love, this world, people, and one’s own heart, can pave this often painful path. Most of all, this path can bring its own lessons about the Creator of love.

Sami Yusuf's Live Feed Campaign

on Sunday, 19 February 2012 02:45. Posted in Inspiration

Sami Yusuf, renowned recording artist and UN Celebrity Partner for WFP, has composed his latest song ‘Forgotten Promises’ in support of the drought-hit populations of the Horn of Africa. All proceeds will be donated to WFP to help sustain and scale-up their humanitarian operations in the region. The partnership between Sami Yusuf and WFP gave birth to ‘LiveFeed’, a unique campaign essentially using the power of music to feed.

This campaign features “Forgotten Promises”, a song about humanity singing with one voice in solidarity with the drought victims, renewing its pledge to deliver on the forgotten promises.

The Horn of Africa is currently suffering the worst drought it has experienced in more than 60 years, causing a severe food crisis across Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. More than 13 million people are affected by this disaster and a lack of water and malnutrition has led to a large number of deaths that are increasing by the day. First declared in two regions of Southern Somalia in July 2011, the famine has since spread to new areas of the country.

Carl Morris - Life & Philosophy

on Wednesday, 28 December 2011 15:39. Posted in Inspiration

Did I help someone to realize a dream they thought they'd lost?
Did I listen when someone told me the reward is worth the cost?
Did I praise someone for their efforts and encourage someone toward their dreams?
Did I help someone to understand the end never justifies the means?
Did I make someone laugh and smile when they would much, rather frown?
Was I the one who picked them up when everyone put them down?
Am I, the one they confide in and know their conversations secure?
Did I provide them with someone to trust in knowing their friendship will always endure?
Am I humble and constantly striving to become more than I was yesterday?
Did I focus on the successes of others and follow through with all that I say?
If I constantly strive to become the one who can say I did to did I's.
Then my life is fulfilled, knowing I have achieved life's greatest prize.
